Bingo.com Announces New CEO & President; Business Model Transition to Be Headed By Experienced Technology Executive
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ — Bingo.com, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BIGR – news) the definitive online Bingo portal, today announced that Tarrnie M. Williams has accepted the position of interim President and CEO of the company effective Monday, August 20th, 2001. Bingo.com accepted Shane Murphy’s resignation as Chairman, President and CEO and would like to thank Mr. Murphy for naming Mr. Williams as his successor and for his significant contribution in building Bingo.com into the leading free bingo site on the Internet.
Mr. Williams has extensive experience in managing public technology companies. He is the founder and President of Tarpen Research Corporation, a private holding and consulting company instrumental in the launch of several technology companies including Distinctive Software Inc., Murex International Corporation, and InMedia Presentations Inc. Mr. Williams also served as President & CEO of Electronic Arts (Canada) Inc., North America’s largest developer of Interactive software.
Mr. Williams currently serves as Director of YMBiosciences Inc., Blue Zone Productions Inc., Appareo Software Inc. and several other private corporations, and has been an Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of British Columbia, since 1993.
Bingo.com is moving towards a Pay for Play skill-based game, and is currently in the beta-testing stage of development and expects to be ready for consumers in the very near future. This business model will compliment the advertising model, which has proven itself to be very resilient.
